A blaze on Wiggins Road April 20 claimed a home as the fire spread very quickly and was a challenge to extinguish. The Columbia Fire Department, with assistance from the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department was able to put out the blaze in just under two hours. The family was not home at the time of the fire, and nobody was injured.
