A vest for Tess: Deputy Dog

Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Tess will soon be as protected as her coworkers as the department was awarded a grant last week to receive a bullet and stab protective vest for the deputy dog.
Tess’ partner, Sgt. Tyler Creel, said it makes him feel great that she will soon be protected from unsuspected foul play.

McDaniel’s walk-off homer seals thrilling CHS-WM rivalry game

Going into the bottom of the seventh inning of Monday night’s season opener between Columbia and West Marion, the Wildcats trailed 8-3 but came all the way back to force extra innings, where freshman Mac McDaniel launched a two-run, walk-off home run to send the Wildcats home with an unbelievable 10-9 win over the rival Trojans.
