Single-car accident kills 1

A one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on Mississippi 13 South killed the driver, Cynthia Boone, 68, of the Hub community, according to Marion County Coroner Jessie Graham. Boone, who was driving a black Nissan Rogue, appeared to drift off the road without swerving or hitting the brakes before colliding with a culvert in a ditch.

East Marion competes in holiday tourneys

Both the East Marion Eagles and Lady Eagles have been quite busy during the holidays while most teams are sitting at home enjoying they break. East Marion hosted its annual Holiday Classic last week and began playing in the McComb Holiday Tournament Monday before it was canceled.
