Miss Paisley
Michelle Courtney
Paisley is the daughter of Chris and Christa Hathorn of Prentiss.
She actively attends Edna Baptist Church where she is a part of the youth group.
A student at Columbia Academy, Paisley has maintained A’s and B’s throughout her academic career. At CA, she represents her class on the student council and has taken on several other leadership and service roles, including serving as parliamentarian for Delta Beta Sigma. Paisley is an active member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Future Health Professionals (HOSA), and the National Technical Honor Society. Paisley has been a proud member of the Columbia Academy Yearbook staff for four years, contributing her time and creativity to documenting school memories. She has also been involved in both junior varsity and varsity cheerleading, where she demonstrated school spirit and teamwork. While attending Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) cheer camp, Paisley earned the honor of being selected as an All-American Cheerleader.
After graduation, Paisley plans to attend Pearl River Community College to pursue a degree in nursing. She then intends to continue her education at William Carey University, where she will work toward becoming a nurse practitioner.
Paisley is being escorted by her grandfather, Donald Clark of Sumrall. Presenting her with flowers is Miss Vonnie Lou Zehentner, daughter of Rob and Leah Zehentner. Vonnie Lou is in K-3 at Columbia Academy.
Miss Harley
Elizabeth Herring
Harley is the daughter of Sam and Melissa Herring of the Sandy Hook community.
She is an active member of Carson Spring Baptist Church where she helps with all church activities throughout the year.
A senior at Columbia Academy, Harley is involved in many organizations, including National Honor Society, where she served as secretary her senior year; Future Health Professionals (HOSA); Dusty Club; and National Technical Honor Society. She helps with Chapel and First Priority and has been a part of the Lady Cougars softball team for seven years where she was awarded most improved in junior high and honored with the Cougar Award her senior year. She has also been a water girl for Columbia Academy’s varsity football team all four years of high school and a Diamond Girl for the varsity baseball team where she also helps with the baseball media.
After graduation, Harley plans to attend PRCC where she hopes to decide on a major and then continue her education at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Harley is being escorted by her father, Sam Herring. Presenting her with flowers is Miss Violet Price, the daughter of Cole and Megan Price of the Sandy Hook community. Violet is in K-4 at Columbia Academy.
Miss Laila
Marie Holloway
Laila is the proud daughter of Sherry Stubbs of Bassfield.
Laila attends Columbia High School, where she was part of the volleyball team for two years. She has demonstrated her dedication to athletics by serving as a basketball manager, supporting her team with leadership and commitment.
Laila has been actively involved in community service through St. Luke Home Health and Hospice.
Outside of school, Laila is also a faithful member of Shorts Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church in Bassfield, where she enjoys being actively involved in her church community.
After graduation, Laila plans to attend Jones College to major in sports medicine. She aspires to build a career helping athletes stay healthy and recover from injuries. While pursuing her degree, Laila plans to work as she continues building independence and preparing for her future. She is grateful for the love and support of her family, friends, and community as she works toward a successful future.
Laila is being escorted by her uncle, Curtis Stubbs, also of Bassfield. Presenting her with flowers is her niece, I’Lani Smith, daughter of Alia and Corron Smith of Columbia.
