The Grove, a skilled nursing facility on Pecan Drive, is hosting a “winter wonderland” senior prom for its residents on Monday..
Owner Michael Bradshaw said most of the residents already have their attire picked out and are already having fun.
“They’re really excited to dress up. They’ve been enjoying coming in, trying on their clothes and picking out what they’re going to wear,” Bradshaw said. “We’re going to have a DJ and party food, and we’re really going to make it like someone’s senior prom. We want to make it very, very special.”
He added some of the residents have even picked out their dates for the prom, and the dance is even going to be complete with a prom king and prom queen.
“We’ve got some (residents), for one reason or another, who never had a senior prom. Some of them have health issues that have plagued them since they were kids, so they didn’t have a normal prom,” Bradshaw said.
