In a season that saw all four Marion County teams win at least one playoff game, nine stars on the gridiron left their mark by earning All-State honors.
Five players from Columbia Academy made the Class 4A All-MAIS Team, which was tied for the second most in the classification behind Tri-County Academy, the state champions. Representing the Cougars are Ethan King, offensive line; Jackson Speir, running back; Trent Buckley, wide receiver; Carson Daniels, linebacker; and Reed Duncan, defensive back.
The Columbia Wildcats saw a pair of playmakers make the Mississippi Coaches All-State Class 4A First-Team. Offensive tackle Harrison Cluff represented the Wildcats on the offensive side while linebacker Tra Lewis made First-Team on the defensive side. Another standout Columbia offensive lineman, Mashun Anderson, earned a spot on the All-State Second-Team offense.
Rounding out Marion County’s standouts is West Marion’s Deundre Youngblood, who was named to the Class 3A Second-Team defense. The edge rusher is the first Trojan to be named to an All-State team since Larry Magee in 2021.
