Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Toxie Terrell, 92, of Foxworth, who died on Friday, Jan. 7. Burial followed in Slocum Cemetery in Foxworth. Rev. Jerry Terrell and Rev. Dale Stogner officiated at the services. Terry Terrell, Darlene Garcia and Sister Ruth Terrell provided special music. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Sunday, Jan. 9, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was born and raised in Marion County. He has spent most of his life in the Foxworth area. He was a very hard-working provider for his family. He adored his wife, Martha, and his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arkin and Betty Terrell McSwain; three sons, Ronald Terrell, Kenneth Terrell and Billy Glenn Terrell; one brother, Rev. Marvin Terrell, and three sisters, Roxie Lilly, Gladys Bedwell and Lucille Merritt.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Martha Lilly Terrell of Foxworth; two sons, Darron Terrell (Judy) of Foxworth and Richard Terrell of Columbia; one daughter, Shirley Baldwin (Calvin) of Prentiss; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Craig Bedwell, Curtis Bedwell, Kenny Bedwell, Lavelle Merritt, Jeremy Anderson and Mark Broom. Honorary pallbearers were Jerome Terrell, Larry Terrell, Lonnie Slocum and Elvis Smith.
