To the citizens of Marion County, I am Berkley Hall and have served as your sheriff for four terms totaling 16 years. I am running for reelection and remain the right man to lead law enforcement in Marion County.
As your sheriff, I have never overspent on my budget with your tax dollars while also bringing law and order to the county’s streets. In 2017, the Mississippi Department of Corrections gave us only a 24-hour notice that it was removing 74 women and 40 from our custody at the Marion County Correctional Facility, costing the jail nearly $400,000. While MDOC promised it would pay back the money, it never did. Despite that shortfall, I have led the jail out of the red and into the black, where it is now in the best financial shape it has ever been in.
Your sheriff must enforce the law but also be a proven administrator, something I have excelled at during my 16 years. We have a Class A Department, outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, all while staying within our budget.
All of my deputies, both part-time and full-time, are state certified and excel at keeping Marion County safe and a great place to live. We have excellent investigators who work tirelessly to make sure justice is served, and the entire department is committed to locking up criminals and drug dealers.
I ask that you continue to trust my department and I to keep you safe, stay within our budget and ensure justice remains in Marion County. A vote for Berkley Hall on Nov. 7 is a vote for a proven administrator and enforcer of the law.
Together we have made a difference.
Berkley Hall, Marion County Sheriff
