On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 13 in Marion County.
A 2012 Buick Enclave driven by 76-year-old Alice Rayford of Lumberton, Mississippi, traveled north on Highway 13, accompanied with three juvenile passengers Keilan D. Coleman, Jakiyha White, and Janiyha all of Lumberton, Mississippi. when it collided with a 2009 GMC Acadia driven by 62-year-old Octavia Lewis of Columbia, Mississippi, accompanied with her passengers Aasia and Alexis Robinson of Columbia, Mississippi traveling south on Highway 13. Alice Rayford received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Keilan D. Coleman, Jakiyha White, Janiyha White, and Octavia Lewis received non-life threating Injuries from the crash.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
