Columbia – Next week is the last week the B.B. Bradley photo exhibit will be on full display in its entirety at The Marion County Museum and Archives. Bradley was the photo editor for the Columbian- Progress for decades. His family graciously donated his life’s work of photo negatives to the Museum. The exhibit photos span from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. Walk back in time through sports, parades, organizations, military draft and special events. Find yourself, your classmates, your parents or even grandparents in this visual history of Marion County.
Some of the over 500 images will need to be taken down in order to make room for a new Quilt Exhibit to open the first week of August. The exhibit will display quilts from families in the area, some heirloom and some newer quilts. There will also be quilted objects and quilted clothing as well a visuals showing the history of quilting and various quilting techniques.
A nationally known quilter, Linda McGehee, will give a program on creative quilting techniques on Saturday, Sept. 16. More information will come prior to the program.
