The Columbian-Progress is unveiling its inaugural Top 10 under 40 awards, highlighting the top business professionals and community members under 40 years old in Marion County.
The contest is designed to highlight the up-and-coming stars within Marion County that will lead the area into the future. Marion County has been set up for a bright future, and it will be up to the next generation to continue its great progress.
“Every day I see younger people around town making a major difference in our community. They may not hold office just yet, and they may not be winning awards at banquets and galas, but there are a lot of talented people that deserve just as much recognition,” C-P Publisher Joshua Campbell said. “This is their chance to be recognized and honored by fellow Marion Countians.”
Nominees must be under 40 years old and have an active role within the community, whether that be through their profession or a community-centered organization. They must either live or work in Marion County to qualify. If a nominee is not a business professional, they must be active with a well-known club or organization that is primarily active in Marion County.
The nomination phase will begin Wednesday, July 19 at 2 p.m. and end Wednesday, July 26 at 9 p.m. You can submit nominations once per day.
Once a list of nominees has been generated, voting to whittle it down to the top-10 will begin Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. and end Friday, Aug. 18 at 9 p.m. You can vote for nominees once per day.
The Top 10 under 40 award winners will be honored with a plaque that will be picked up at The Columbian-Progress office at 318 Second St. Their picture will be taken by a C-P photographer, and they will be featured on the front page of The Columbian-Progress.
The C-P will post links to the nomination and voting websites on social media, and the QR code embedded in this article will take you to the site (https://columbianprogresscolumbia.secondstreetapp.com/Top-10-under-40/g…).
