On March 29, firefighters from Pine Burr and Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Departments, along with the Columbia Fire Department, were called for mutual aid to South Marion VFD to the scene of a mobile home fire at 2299 Mississippi 13 South. The fire was contained to the back two bedrooms, and no one was injured in the blaze.
James Givens, Forrest Cawley and Tyler Creel were on scene for Columbia Fire Department. Tommy Ramos was on scene for Southwest VFD, and Cory Matheny was there from Tri-Community VFD. Pine Burr firefighters, Cecil Nickey and Terry Stockstill were two of the first on the scene.
James Givens used the hose to put out the fire from the outside while firefighters Cawley, Creel and Ramos worked from the inside for about 20 minutes before assisting on the outside of the mobile home.
