The Marion County Career and Technology Center’s Law and Public Safety Program is receiving valuable support from several local departments. Recently, representatives from several local departments visited the campus to provide hands-on training and assistance to students. Marion County Sheriff Berkley Hall, Chief Deputy Jamie Singley, Marion County School District Police Chief Brian Foxworth, Columbia Police Department Chief Adrian Fortenberry, and Columbia Fire Department Chief Lyles Gerard were among the leaders who participated in the program. Each department has certified and knowledgeable personnel in different areas, and they shared their knowledge and expertise with the students. Law and Public Safety Instructor, Glenn Allen, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to network with local departments, stating, “The impact these departments have on our students is unlimited.” CTE Director, Kimberly Rawls, praised the collaboration, saying, “To see the networking and knowledge that all these departments are sharing with students is amazing to witness.” Rawls concluded, “These departments are always welcome on our campus!”
