The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery at Cox’s Triangle convenience store in Foxworth last month.
Late Friday, investigators took Antonio White, 28, of Foxworth into custody and charged him with armed robbery. His bond was set Monday at $100,000 in Marion County Justice Court.
“Since the Jan. 6 incident, we’ve worked on leads and we developed White as a suspect,” Capt. Pete Williams said.
Williams said that unlike an armed robbery that involved a shooting at the Columbia Family Dollar that has two suspects, it is believed that White acted alone in the early morning hours of Jan. 6.
“An armed, masked male entered Cox’s on U.S. 98 around 2:30 a.m. and ordered the clerk to open the register,” he said. “The suspect fired a shot and took an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled the scene.”
Williams added the clerk was uninjured. The incident remains under investigation, and Williams asked anyone with information to contact him at (601) 736-5051.
