The Marion County Historical Society will host the fifth annual Candle Light Christmas Tour at the John Ford Home and land in Sandy Hook on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Clyde “Doc” Ginn said this will be the last time the site will be viewable to the public until possibly 2021. The home and site will undergo restoration that will make the historical landmark more of a comprehensive living history center and tourism destination.
“We have a lot of exciting things going on at the Fordsville site. I think the public will have much more to see and do,” he said.
Ginn said a new program is being presented with a surprise twist at Payne’s Chapel this year.
The tours on Nov. 30 run hourly from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. with tickets being sold for $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 through 12 and children under 6 are free. Tickets will be presold beginning on Oct. 24. Space is limited. To reserve your spot or to purchase tickets call Ginn at (601) 466-5746.
