The Columbia School Board started off the meeting with recognitions Tuesday night.
Superintendent Jason Harris first thanked Police Chief Michael Kelly, Fire Department Captain Nathan Guy, Transportation Supervisor Loren Monk and Chief Operations Officer Tim Carter for their work on the active shooters drills as part of the Mississippi School Safety Act.
Jefferson Middle School Principal Levi Robinson then recognized students making a perfect score on the state math test. Each of the students received a certificate and a T-shirt.
Deirdre Randall presented the enrollment report. The enrollment from kindergarten to 12th grade increased 30 students to 1,591. With the addition of the pre-K program the enrollment increased to 1,652.

He said three years the school scored 348 on state testing out of 700, last year was a drop to 277 and this year it has gone up to 354. He said the school is now a C, but a goal has been set to become a B.
