Marion County has the opportunity to help out its neighbors hit by tornados on Easter Sunday. Trucks will be located at Pic-N-Sav, Ramey’s, Tractor Supply and Walmart on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. for donations of items to help those affected by the storms.
Sunday an EF-3 tornado wreaked havoc through Lawrence County and an EF-4 tornado traveled through Walthall, Jefferson Davis, Covington and Jones counties, destroying hundreds of homes. A total of 12 people died as a result of the severe weather across Mississippi.
Items needed include: water, blankets, air mattresses, tents, pop-up tents, feminine products, deodorants for men and women, underwear for men and women, socks, cleaning products, trash bags, tarps, plastic totes, baby products, etc.
Items may be taken today to Columbia Outdoors/The Great McArthur as well.
