West Marion graduate and former Distinguished Young Woman Kaitlyn Bradford has been crowned as Marion County Miss Hospitality for 2020.
Bradford is a freshman at Southwest Mississippi Community College and is the daughter of Vicki Nelson of Sandy Hook.
As Miss Hospitality, Bradford will serve to promote tourism and economic development. She is to be an advocate for Columbia and Marion County and will be doing speaking engagements and ribbon cuttings.
In the last few years interest in Miss Hospitality and other types of pageants has waned, which is something Co-Chairman Danielle Whittington is hoping to change.
Qualifications to compete for Miss Hospitality include representing the county the participant is from (not where attending college) being able to attend the entire state competition July 12 to July 18, holding a high school diploma while attending or planning to attend college, between 18 and 24, never married or having children and being in good health.
In addition, Kenedy Morgan was crowned Little Miss Hospitality. She is the daughter of Krae and Maggie Morgan of Morgantown.
The Columbia Rotary Club is sponsoring Bradford and Morgan in their endeavors by paying their state pageant fees.
