Mississippi Strong will be set up in front of Southern Grace Boutique on Main Street Saturday, May 9, beginning at 8 a.m. to sell T-shirts with funds going to tornado victims.
Krystal Upton, one of the owners of Southern Grace, said Trey Strickland and his family have a screen printing business in Seminary. When the Easter tornado came through, their house sustained some damage. Strickland came up with the idea of making T-shirts as a way to raise money for the tornado victims. From there, Mississippi Strong came to be.
Strickland decided to not only help out for the Easter tornado but all apparel that is sold in Columbia on May 9, the funds will be donated to help area residents whose homes were damaged in the April 19 tornado.
The T-shirts are $15, tank tops are $25 and decals are $5.
