If you didn’t get a chance to see the Columbia High School Marching Wildcats’ championship show or want to see it again, Tuesday night will be your chance.
Last week, the CHS band placed first in Class 3A at the Mississippi High School Activities Association’s state marching evaluations at Northwest Rankin High School. Director Leslie Fortenberry said the band will play an encore at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at Walter Payton Field at Gardner Stadium.
“We’re going to perform an exhibition,” Fortenberry said. “Donations will be accepted at the gate, and all proceeds will go toward championship shirts, patches and rings for the band.”
The championship was Columbia’s seventh state championship in marching competition.
