Cyclist Randall Lewis of Columbia is set to ride again for charity.
This year’s ride will begin at 1 a.m. Thursday in Columbia and end in New Orleans later that day about 119 miles away.
“I have been riding all over South Mississippi for quite a while,” Lewis said.
The avid cyclist with a heart for charity seeks donations and sponsorships for his ride throughout the year. This year he is donating the money to organizations for blind, deaf and sick children.
Lewis said when he turned 60 in February, he decided to do the trip to New Orleans. This is his second trip to New Orleans on a bicycle, but this time he is doing a different route. His goal is to reach New Orleans by 3 p.m. He has spotters and family that travel with him.
