The events planned for downtown Columbia for the Christmas season will continue on. Mayor Justin McKenzie said that with the county being placed under a mask mandate, everyone will be required to wear a mask.
McKenzie also asks that people do everything they can to maintain the necessary social distancing, but the downtown activities will still continue.
Kristian Agoglia, with Experience Columbia, said they are having to get a new chiller for the ice skating rink due to mechanical difficulties.
This weekend the Honey Island Clydesdales will be at The Flower Shop on Church Street and be part of a fundraiser for the Columbia Fire Department. Also Saturday night will be “Tacky Christmas Clothes” night.
