The Columbia Board of Aldermen approved a grant to make further improvements at the Columbia Airport.
The grant, in the amount of $193,564, from the Mississippi Transportation Commission is for the construction of a fuel farm access road at the airport.
The board also approved to hold a public hearing to close the alley in the area of First Street.
Edward Barnes and David Barnes made a donation of property near Duckworth Park, which the board approved.
Under personnel changes, the board approved the hires of Jonathan Whalum and Louis J. Butler Jr. and the resignation of Brandon Ellis. Alan Marak and Tyler Montgomery were hired as unpaid reserve officers.
Resolutions were approved for mow and clean for 704 and 706 Dukes Avenue. Also approved was a resolution for demolition for 901 Alberta Avenue.
Hearings were approved for mow and clean for the following properties:

l 1005 Church Street;
l 900 Church Street;
l 1001 Gill Street;
l 704 N. Park Avenue;
l 1003 West Avenue;
l 406 Short Owens;
l 618 Forman Street;
l 611 Dukes Avenue;
l 613 Dukes Avenue.
