The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office has charged a 36-year-old Columbia man with possessing child pornography.
William Andrew Chapman was arrested at his home May 23 and charged with two counts of child exploitation, the AG’s office said in a news release.
Chapman remained in the Marion County Jail on $40,000 bond as of Tuesday.
Each count of child exploitation carries a sentence of five to 40 years.
The case was investigated by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Columbia Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
