About 50 more people living in Marion County had jobs in December versus November, according to state figures released Tuesday.
The county's unemployment rate remained at 5.4%, just above the state average of 5.3%.
The national unemployment rate is 3.5%, among the lowest in the nation's history.
There were 9,590 people employed in Marion County in December out of a workforce of 10,140. Those numbers were 9,540 and 10,110 in November.
Lafayette and Rankin counties tied for the lowest rate at 3.7%. Lamar County was third at 3.8%.
