An employee of the Columbia Walmart Supercenter was arrested and charged with embezzlement last week.
Emily Baker, 23, of Columbia was charged with embezzlement/ entrusted public property/ funds converted for own use by the Columbia Police Department after an investigation led to her arrest on July 16.
According to police reports, Baker allegedly stole more than $3,000 while working as a cashier. Walmart asset protection contacted the police and detectives investigated resulting in the arrest.
Baker’s bond was set at $3,500 in Marion County Justice Court and she has since bonded out.
