An Angie, La., woman faces felony shoplifting charges after allegedly stealing more than $1,200 worth of electronics from Walmart in Columbia over the weekend.
Kristina Alice Cleland, 29, was arrested by Columbia police and booked into the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility early Sunday morning after the late Saturday incident.
Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan Harrison said Walmart reported the theft, but Cleland had left the store by the time officers arrived.
“They got out with her on Sumrall Road near U.S. 98,” he said. “She had an accomplice. It was a black male driving a blue sedan, but the car took off and left her.”
Harrison said they’re continuing to investigate other shoplifting cases that they believe Cleland may be connected to.
Her bond had not been set in Marion County Justice Court as of Monday afternoon.
