A former Foxworth resident was one of 10 people to die on state highways over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Dennis Beach, 37, was walking on Interstate 55 North in Montgomery County at 8:27 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2011 Dodge 250 pick-up driven by Gregory L. Cornelius, 64, of Oklahoma City, Okla., according to a statement from the Highway Patrol. Beach was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Highway Patrol listed Beach as from Foxworth, although his Facebook page said he lived in Grenada.
There were also fatal wrecks in Holmes, Rankin, Sunflower, Humphreys, Simpson, Marshall (two) and Union counties during the holiday weekend.
