On the corner lot on Juniper Drive in Columbia sits the home of Rosalind and John Mikell, which also happens to be the September Yard of the Month.
The house is covered in shade from the two white oak trees that the Mikells planted in 1979. The front porch is beautifully decorated with inviting furniture, potted plants and a swing.
The flower beds contain an assortment of plants, including caladiums and sunpatiens.
Rosalind Mikell said she loves working in the yard.
“Working in the yard is my therapy,” she said.
The Yard of the Month is part of the Beautification Commission sponsored by the Marion County Development Partnership.
