Juniors and seniors from across Marion County participated in the 20th annual College and Career Fair at the Columbia Exposition Center Oct. 22.
Students were able to meet Jackson State University, Champion's Way Training Facility team members, Mississippi Valley State University, the Army National Guard, William Carey University, the United States Forest Service, AAA Ambulance Service, the Mississippi Fire Marshal, The Grove Nursing Home, Citizens Bank, the University of Mississippi School of Education, Marion County Sheriff's Department, Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association, Pine Grove Behavioral Health, Alcorn State, First Southern Bank, Louisiana State University of Alexandria, Mary Kay, Mississippi State University, University of West Alabama, Delta State University, Marion General, Lincoln Tech, Pearl River Community College, Mississippi University for Women, The Grove, The University of Mississippi, Columbia Progress, Tougaloo College, C Spire, Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District Workforce, Southeastern Construction, N.A.S.A., Regions Bank, Ingalls Shipbuilding, Walker-Hill Environmental, the University of Southern Mississippi, Job Corps, Alcorn State University School of Agriculture and Applied Science, and the Mississippi Air Guard and the Columbia Police Department.
Organizers thanked those businesses and educational institutions for giving students their day to make connections that will last a lifetime.
The college recruiters and business representatives were from Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Students enjoyed fun, games and giveaways that were sponsored by the above businesses and educational institutions.
This event is hosted by the Marion County Career and Technology Center.
