The Columbia Police Department has arrested a man and charged him with a May 3 attack on Oak Avenue.
Andre L. Griffin, 40, of Columbia was being held Friday afternoon at the Marion County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.
Greg Fleming, 58, suffered severe injuries in a May 3 attack on Oak Avenue near his home on Ford Street. It was initially reported as the result of a fall, but police launched an investigation to determine the true cause.
Fleming was first taken to Marion General Hospital before being sent to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. An update on his condition was not available Thursday.
