Columbia Police Department officers made three arrests Monday shortly after the suspects allegedly burglarized a house.
Sgt. Peggy Foster and Detective Lt. Jonathan Harrison responded to a call just after 12:40 p.m. on Bay Avenue. According to a report, the resident said Johnny Madison and Zachary Forbes broke into his home and stole tools, tool boxes and other miscellaneous items.
A neighbor said he saw a red Pontiac occupied by a white woman and two white men leave the residence. Harrison and other officers began to search for the vehicle and spotted it around 1:20 p.m. Harrison stopped it because it had a tag that expired in 2016 and found Madison and Forbes inside with Megan Dixon driving. The suspects had several items in the vehicle matching the description of the items stolen from the victim’s home.
Madison, 31, of Foxworth, was charged with burglary of a dwelling and had bond set at $25,000. Forbes, 30, of Lumberton, was charged with accessory after the fact and contempt of court, with his bonds totaling $6,165. Dixon was also charged as an accessory after the fact and had bond set at $5,000. n
