The Columbian-Progress church page has received a redesign debuting today that includes color and a new local columnist.
Bro. Bobby Thornhill of Sandy Hook is sharing his writings, which appear in several regional newspapers, with the C-P.
Also, church listings will be divided up into two groups that will run in alternating weeks, allowing for a larger type size that is easier to read.
“In an era where many corporations shy away from association with Christianity or the Bible, we’re proud to continue to live and do business in a community that supports those values,” Editor and Publisher Charlie Smith said. “We hope readers like the improvements to the church page and thank our sponsors for making it possible.”
Sponsoring businesses include: Brumfield Drugs, Citizens Bank, Colonial Funeral Home, Columbia Discount Drugs, Columbia Rehabilitation, Columbia Starter and Alternator, Cook and Fortenberry Pharmacy, Cooper Towing, DEL’s Electric, Dirt Cheap, Donovan McComb, Fred Buhrer Real Estate, Hathorn Funeral Home, Hitt’s Body Shop, Houston Cleaners, JOWIN Express, Mack Grubbs Motors, Mack’s Heating and Air, Magnolia Inn, Professional Auto Sales, Quality Flooring, Shepard’s Discount Drugs, Southern Insurance Group, Stamps Body Shop, The Deck, The Grove Nursing Home, The Grove Orchard Park, Trustmark Bank, Walmart, Ward’s of Columbia, Watts Brothers and Wolfe Lumber Yard.
Smith also thanked Bill Reedy of Reedy Advertising Service for partnering with the newspaper on the page.
