An Oak Vale woman is facing felony charges after allegedly cashing $17,000 in bad checks in Columbia.
Columbia police charged Angela Turnage, 41, with two counts of felony bad check and one mis-demeanor count when they arrested her July 27.
“She went to Ferguson Federal Credit Union with two bad checks over the summer,” Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan Harrison said. “They were checks written from a California bank, which was contacted and they were confirmed not to be authentic.”
Turnage was taken to the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility and has since posted $7,000 bond. Harrison said the investigation is continuing.
