Trojans back in district driver’s seat

West Marion took care of business in district play against Tylertown, and the rest took care of itself. As a result of St. Stanislaus losing a game to Perry Central and St. Patrick in the last two weeks, the Trojans now control their own destiny once again in hopes of a district title.

Lady Wildcats seek revenge in ‘death row’ portion of schedule

Every team in softball has a difficult week in terms of who’s on the schedule, and that time has arrived for Columbia. The Lady Wildcats, fresh off of a blowout win at Forrest County AHS and a blowout loss to Sumrall, rematched Sumrall Tuesday before taking on Purvis Thursday and East Marion Friday.

Wildcats drop pair of heartbreakers to Sumrall

When facing perennial powerhouse Sumrall in district play last week, the Columbia Wildcats went blow for blow with the Bobcats, but it wasn’t enough. The Wildcats dropped two games in devastating fashion, falling in the 10th inning at Sumrall March 26 and allowing three seventh-inning runs against the Bobcats at home Friday.
