Lady Eagles eliminated by McAdams

The Lady Eagles' season came to an end Monday with an opening round loss to McAdams, 55-30.

East Marion head coach Calvin Brown said that he knew his team needed to have strong start to the game, but, instead, the Lady Eagles fell behind quickly and were unable to recover.

Wolfpack taste defeat, earn No. 3 seed in Class 2A Tournament

It hadn’t happened in over two months, but the Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack suffered defeat at the hands of Briarfield Academy 40-36 in the second round of the Class 2A South State Tournament. The Wolfpack, however, earned a trip to the Class 2A Tournament with a victory over host Riverdale Academy 39-34 in the consolation game.

Columbia’s Jakira Brown made school history Monday night in the Lady Wildcats’ 51-42 playoff victory against Northeast Jones by becoming the first junior girls basketball player to surpass 1,000 career points.

Eagles win 6th district title in 7 years

There's a high standard within the basketball program at East Marion, and that standard rose even higher Friday after the Eagles thrashed Enterprise 62-31 to win the Region 8-1A tournament – the sixth district title for the Eagles in the last seven years.
