Eagles fall at top Velma Jackson in opening round

One of the major goals this season for East Marion was to go toe-to-toe with Velma Jackson in the playoffs, which the Eagles did for the most part in a 39-0 loss Friday that was a lot closer than the final score indicated.

Wildcats overcome Morton in seesaw first round

The Columbia Wildcats had been so dominant all season that they never once trailed during their undefeated run through the regular season, but that changed Friday night in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. Morton gave the Wildcats all they could handle and led Columbia four times.
