The Marion County Federation of Democratic Women Christmas Gala was held on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023. Attendees dressed up in their holiday attire and enjoyed the Christmas decorations and a delicious dinner. DJ Hot Sauce 5151 entertained everyone by playing Christmas carols and old school music that set the mood that ushered in the holiday spirit.
The guest speaker was retired Army Lt. Col. Alex Robinson from Atlanta, Ga. The theme was “How to Emerge Stronger.”
Lt. Col. Robinson reflected back on his life’s journey and asked the question, “Do you give up when you encounter hardship, or do you push through?” He said push through and provided four reasons: Purpose-you must be aligned and committed; Clarity-your goals and objectives must be clearly defined; Unity-helps build momentum and support; and Determination-we must bring out best grit and drive, you can feel in the air that it’s contagious.
