A local teenager was airlifted to an area hospital Tuesday morning after he narrowly escaped death in an early-morning accident on U.S. 98 west of Columbia. The Mississippi Highway Patrol, along with Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies and other first responders, feared the worst upon seeing the massive damage of the logs that impaled the entire length of the Nissan Titan. The driver of the log truck, owned by River Bend Logging in Foxworth was not injured. The MHP had not released either of the drivers’ information at press time Tuesday. | Photos by Danny O'Fallon
