Marion County Career and Technology Center’s Law and Public Safety Class hosted a special Veterans Program to pay tribute to veterans from Marion, Walthall, Pike, and Lamar counties. The event brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to express heartfelt gratitude to those who have served our nation. The program was presented by the Law and Public Safety II students. Among the honored guests was the oldest veteran in attendance, 95-year-old Army PFC Booker T. Bridges of Jayess, Mississippi, who received special recognition for his dedicated service. Lt. Colonel Duane Van Fleet, USMC (Ret.), shared his experiences and offered valuable guidance to the students, providing a meaningful perspective on the importance of service, leadership, and commitment. State Senator Gary Brumfield (District 38) also addressed the audience, expressing his appreciation for the veterans and offering encouragement to the students as they pursue their future careers. CTE Director, Kimberly Rawls, expressed her joy as she addressed the veterans, guests, staff, and students, thanking everyone for their participation in such a significant occasion. Law and Public Safety Instructor Glenn Allen also expressed his appreciation to the veterans and community guests for attending and supporting the program. He praised his students for their professionalism and respect, highlighting the event as an example of how education can build character and deepen community connections. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of our nation’s veterans. The Law and Public Safety Class is proud to have organized this meaningful program in their honor.
