This year there will be a formal Memorial Day service Monday at the Marion County Courthouse on Memorial Day.
The event is being sponsored by the American Legion Post 90.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be retired Chief Warrant Officer Jeffery Revette. “Amazing Grace” will be played on the bagpipes and Taps on the bugle, both by Matthew Beal.
American Legion Post 90 Bill Harris said he was very excited about the program. In years past, there has not always been a program.
Last year with the pandemic, an impromptu service was quickly put together.
Harris said this year will be different because it is the first truly organized program with a guest speaker and music.
For more information about the program, contact Harris with the American Legion Post 90 at (601) 441-1638.
The public is invited to attend the event.
