Twice this hurricane season major hurricanes started the week off with the cone over Marion County, and both times Marion County has was spared.
Category 3 Hurricane Delta will be making landfall sometime Friday afternoon into the evening along the central part of the coast in Louisiana, East of Lake Charles.
While the severe threats are no longer for Marion County, it remains under a wind advisory beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing until 1 p.m. Saturday. Winds are expected to be 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Tornados are possible as the storm makes its way across land.
Outer bands from the storm are expected to affect Marion County also in the way of rain during the night. The county could receive up to two inches of rain and possibly more depending on the bands as it comes on shore and across the land.
