Stringer lifts Trojans to sweep of rival Columbia

For the first time in five years, West Marion swept Columbia in the annual two-game rivalry series to start the season, thanks to the efforts of Trojans senior Kolby Stringer. The superstar tossed 7 2/3 innings of one-hit baseball with 22 strikeouts to go along with four hits, a home run and 3 RBI in a Herculean effort.

The National Technical Honor Society at the Marion County Carl Loftin Career & Technology Center sponsored its second blood drive of the year on Dec. 8.
To all the wonderful students and staff who donated the 25 units, we say “thank you.” Your generous donations potentially saved 75 lives.
