The Nation's Weather for Saturday, July 29, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A broad zone with the potential for severe thunderstorms is
expected tomorrow as a cold front dives southward into a
warm and humid air mass extending from the Ohio Valley into
New England. Thunderstorms will be capable of producing
damaging winds and intense downpours from southern Indiana
through Massachusetts and even into Maryland and Virginia.
Farther south, tropical moisture will enhance downpours in
Florida and along the eastern Gulf coast, with blistering
heat set to continue through the rest of the South and the
central and southern Plains. Thunderstorms may build into
parts of the Midwest, but many areas should remain dry
across the Great Lakes. Monsoon thunderstorms will redevelop
in the Southwest, and additional storms will build in the
High Plains. Much of the rest of the region will be dry.
