The Nation's Weather for Saturday, December 9, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Through the afternoon and into the night tomorrow,
thunderstorms are expected to turn severe at times from far
eastern Texas into the western Florida Panhandle and
northward through Kentucky. These storms may bring hail,
flooding downpours and even a few tornadoes. Rain and
embedded thunder will extend northward through Indiana, with
showers reaching western Pennsylvania by day's end. Rain
will also reach Lower Michigan and much of the Upper
Peninsula, where rain will change to snow on the colder side
of the storm, leaving a light additional accumulation for
Minnesota and Wisconsin. After a brief reprieve, the Pacific
Northwest will again face stormy conditions as a disturbance
pushes onto the coast with rain and mountain snow, mainly in
Washington. Most others will be dry.
