The Nation's Weather for Monday, December 11, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Through the day tomorrow, an intense, deepening storm will
race from southern New England into southeastern Canada. As
this disturbance leaves the Northeast, heavy morning rain
will give way to drier conditions for southern and eastern
New England. Extreme wind gusts over 50 mph also will end
from the Rhode Island coast through southeastern Maine as
the day progresses. Farther inland, up to several inches of
snow can be expected from far northern Maine across much of
Vermont and New York on the cold side of the storm, with
snow extending southward into Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio
and West Virginia at times. Strong high pressure will
ensure a dry day for most other areas of the nation except
for the Northwest, where a cold front will produce showers
in Oregon and some snow for Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.
