The Nation's Weather for Monday, January 1, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
There can be a few lingering flurries and snow showers
across the Great Lakes as a storm moves off the coast
tomorrow. Snow can become steady at times in western
Pennsylvania and along the Appalachians from Tennessee to
West Virginia. It will be another seasonably cool and cloudy
day across the Southeast and the Southern Plains, and
showers can develop along the Gulf Coast, mainly from Texas
to Mississippi. After a brief wet period in California as
well as in the Northwest, conditions will turn dry again,
however the sky will continue to feature more clouds than
sunshine. Across the center of the nation, dry weather will
continue as an area of high pressure remains overhead. This
zone of high pressure will also promote plenty of sunshine
and seasonable conditions across this region.
