The Nation's Weather for Friday, March 4, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Other than a couple of morning flurries to the east of Lake
Ontario, the East is expected to have a quiet day tomorrow.
A bit of snow will fall along the Canadian border in North
Dakota and Minnesota. Mountain snow and valley rain will
affect much of the interior West. A dip in the jet stream
will allow much cooler air to flow into California, ending
the recent stretch of near-record warmth. Precipitation will
also return to the Golden State, with locally heavier rain
and embedded thunderstorms forecast in coastal Southern
California from Los Angeles to San Diego. Meanwhile, gusty
winds and excessively dry weather will result in an elevated
fire threat in eastern New Mexico and far western Texas.
Well above-normal temperatures will continue across the
southern Plains and Southeast.
