The Nation's Weather for Friday, January 19, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Snow will return to portions of the Northeast tomorrow as a
cold front brings in another push of Arctic air, with snow
from southern New England and central New York state into
mainly northern parts of the Delmarva Peninsula. Steady snow
will also fall through the Appalachian Mountains and into
parts of the South, extending northward. Areas of
lake-effect snow will occur in Indiana and through the Great
Lakes. Showers will make for wet conditions early near and
along the immediate mid-Atlantic coast and into the
Southeast, where thunderstorms are expected across most of
eastern Florida. Most of the rest of the nation will be dry
under high pressure, but a new storm will bring freezing
rain to parts of the Northwest and rain to coastal
California.
