The Nation's Weather for Friday, March 1, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A potent disturbance will slide even farther onshore
tomorrow in the West. The storm will deliver more widespread
snowfall from the Northwest and the northern Rockies to
Northern California and the northern Sierra Nevada, where
snow from the day through the night is likely to be measured
in feet at the highest elevations amid blizzard conditions.
Plain rain is expected along the West coast as warmer air
persists. Farther east, a separate storm will bring areas of
rain and thunderstorms from Louisiana and South Texas across
the Southeast through the northern half of the Florida
Peninsula. Showers associated with this storm are expected
to extend as far north as Ohio and the Delmarva Peninsula.
The Northeast, the Plains and the Southwest should be
largely dry under high pressure.
